'Akshar-Maitri' was written by Vinaya A. Bhosekar (Family Therapist) and Aparna S. Dharmadhikari (Child Psychologist). They are the founding members and trustees of Sumantra Psychological Counseling Center. Despite having average intelligence, we come across children who find it hard to make academic progress.

 

We felt the need to write a book focusing on the various aspects which may be causing poor school performance. The book also emphasizes the role of nutrition in improving learning skills. Among other things, this book explains the function of the brain with the help of a diagram.

 

This book will help parents and teachers to understand children's problems in a better way. Remediation given at the right time will surely help to overcome the difficulties faced by the child.
